Lamborghini Diablo

Thirty-one Years?

It isn’t often that we celebrate 31 years of anything, except maybe birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Who ever heard of celebrating an automotive 31st anniversary? Well, at Concorso we promised to celebrate the Lamborghini Diablo’s 30th anniversary in 2020. We all know what happened in 2020, which brings us to 2021. This August we are celebrating 31 years of the Diablo.

31 years after introduction, the Lamborghini Diablo stands up as well today as the day it was presented to the public. The Diablo is a 537L fuel injected V12, capable of hitting speeds in excess of 200mph. This was the first production Lamborghini to achieve such speeds. The car was the successor to the groundbreaking Countach. As successors go, it was spectacular, and still is today.

Just under 3,000 Diablos of various designs were made. Production started 31 years ago in 1990. The final car was produced in 2001. Through the years Lamborghini created the Diablo VT, the SE30, the SV and the Diablo VT Roadster, amongst other variations. Twelve years was a long run, and what a wonderful run it was.

This August 14th at Concorso Italiano we will celebrate the 31st Anniversary of the Lamborghini Diablo. We encourage you to join us to honor Lamborghini and this remarkable car.
